As circumstances change, SOFT4Lessee calculates adjustments to lease liability and right-of-use asset values, producing General Ledger postings accordingly. Asset remeasurement allows you to maintain more accurate balance sheet records and may permit deductible losses to be recognized when asset values decline.
Foreign currency lease handling
For leases denominated in foreign currencies, SOFT4Lessee remeasures lease liabilities using closing currency exchange rates at the end of each reporting period, as required by accounting standards like IAS 21. The system recognizes exchange rate differences as gains or losses without affecting the right-of-use asset value. It ensures compliance with international reporting requirements for multi-currency lease portfolios.
